While reading an old family copy of Trout Fishing in America, by Richard Brautigan, the book began falling apart. So I collaged pages from the book onto canvases and let that inspire several paintings.
On the second-to-last page of the book, Brautigan writes, “Expressing a human need, I always wanted to write a book that ended with the word Mayonnaise.” On the next page, in “The Mayonaise Chapter,” the author fulfills his own wish. Much of this text is visible in this painting.

When my old copy of Dune started falling apart (yes, we read it that much), I knew I would incorporate it into some art. When the new Dune movies started coming out, I got the idea that when Paul Atreides takes the spice and can see all possible futures, he could also see all the cinematic versions of Dune. You can read more about this theory in the inquiry blog.
