Commission a new piece of artwork
As a gift for yourself or a loved one
I can make a drawing or painting based on your photographs or on a subject of your choosing.
Paintings on canvas
You choose a subject or a specific San Francisco view, and I can create a painting inspired by your ideas. As you can tell, my art can be a bit impressionistic, expressionistic, and abstracted from reality. I’ll ask you to choose how weird you want the painting to be. I may ask you to provide photographs to work from. I can also incorporate your scraps of paper and ephemera into the painting.
Current rate is based on $150 + $1/sq. inch, so your choices include:
8” x 8” canvas = $210
9” x 12” canvas = $250
18” x 24” canvas = $580
24” x 30” canvas = $870
3’ x 4’ canvas = $1875
I’ll ask you to pay half of this price before I begin the painting.
The time it takes to complete the commission will vary. The prices above are based on you providing a source photo and do not include portraiture. More complex ideas will cost more.
Email Todd to make arrangements.
Your ideas + Todd’s painting = a compelling collaboration.
Custom 4” x 6” drawings
This can be a nice gift which can be in the mail within a week. Choose to have it sent as a postcard, sent in an envelope, or framed. You can order a small drawing commission right away.
You provide 1-2 photographs and Todd will create a 4” x 6” custom drawing to send to someone awesome. When you purchase, you will be asked questions about your order, but you can also email Todd to clarify the details.
You will also be asked how weird you want your custom art to be on a scale from 1-5 where “1” is a “Straightforward pretty accurate scribbly marker drawing” and “5” is “Go crazy with these images, let’s see what comes out.” Whatever you choose, the combination of your ideas and my drawings will be a fun collaborative process.
Choose between sending the drawing as a postcard ($40), sending it in an envelope ($42), or putting it in a black wood frame ($45).
Prices for the envelope or postcard option includes postage. For a framed drawing, select “Priority mail for framed 4" x 6" drawings” when checking out to pay $10 for shipping (or choose to “pick the art up in San Francisco”).
The frames are from Ikea. They are simple wood frames, painted black, with glass. They come with holes and a peg that lets them stand in portrait or landscape orientations or could be hung from a small nail in the wall. The frames are slightly smaller than 4” x 6” with openings that measure 3.375” x 5.375”.
