As an #artsed advocate, I often discuss how useful art is as a tool for deeper understanding of any subject. I practice what I preach. I use my art to study the society around me. Specifically, my, “City of Awesome” project is about the question, what makes San Francisco so awesome? 

I’ve asked hundreds of people about how they contribute to their community. This has led me to understand that San Francisco is awesome because of the love and passion people bring to it. And this understanding has

 informed my political outlook and my voter guide for the Nov. 3 San Francisco elections.
