mixed-media on paper detail
Otagi Nembutsu-ji is a small temple on the outskirts of Kyoto. In the 1980’s, community members carved 1,200 quirky statues representing the Rakan (followers of Buddha) and left them outside to gather lichen and moss creating an enchanting crowd-sourced art project.
Maybe I’ll copy this idea sometime. (at Otagi Nenbutsu-ji)
