A quick lesson in making an artistic poster about a short story:

What theme do you want to discuss?
What image can represent that theme?
Sketch your composition; can you zoom in?
Make the lightest spot white and the darkest spot a deep black.
Can you make it more intense?
Can you add anything more to better demonstrate your understanding?

Be sure to occasionally step back and look at your work.
