Election week paintings
On the Wednesday after election night, while ballots were still being counted, I went to the park with an empty canvas and spent some time with this tree, some good music, and my thoughts. You can see words in the painting that say,
FEEL that nervous ANGRY ENERGY
HARNESS [and] Unleash That CREATIVE POWER
Another painting that I finished during this period began as an abstract piece that captures some of the pre-election anxiety I was feeling. I added some California poppies to transform it into something more hopeful.
