• Live art on Oct 27, 2018 On Saturday, you can see me in action painting live at Oakland Storytellers: A Benefit for Chapter 510, 6-9pm at 7 West (near West Oakland Bart). I'm thrilled to be able to paint some of my all-time favorite artists, including musician and film-maker Boots Riley, and to help raise money for the Oakland affiliate of 826 Valencia. Also, I'll be in my Halloween costume.
  • The Art Don't Stop in Bernal Heights on Oct 28 Start your holiday shopping at the Fiesta on the Hill neighborhood street party, Sunday 10am-4pm, Cortland Ave. I'll have a table in the "Made in Bernal" section to show off some small canvases and drawings. You can make this part of your Open Studios tour, or just part of your fun day enjoying live music, food trucks, and overwhelming neighborhood charm. Costume parade with marching band at noon.
  • Here comes the judge on Nov 3 Allow me to brag for a moment: I have the great honor of being a judge at the 36th Annual Sandcastle Classic benefiting Leap Arts in Education. This will be a fun party on the beach for all ages. Come and watch the power go to my head.
  • Art for bikes on Dec 2 The painting at the top of this email is "Sunday in Dolores Park". The only place to see it and buy it will be as part of the art auction at Winterfest, Sunday, Dec 2, 2-6pm, County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park. Support the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition to keep making the streets safer and more accessible for everyone in the city.

Anytime: You can always contact Todd to schedule a studio visit to see the art in person.

Agave Inspiration Happy Hour

Drink and Draw
5-7pm on Tuesday, October 7.
Tres Tequila Lounge & Mexican Kitchen
130 Townsend Street at 2nd.
San Francisco, CA

There will be generous happy hour deals on Herradura Tequila and cocktails to inspire your doodles and scribbles.

Todd Berman has a strangely democratic artistic process, often using drawings and ideas from the public in his paintings. So when he got selected to be one of the 10 artists in Herradura Tequila's Barrel Art program, he knew he'd need help.

That mean's he'll need people to drink the craft tequila to see what it makes them draw. You don't need any drawing skill to participate - you just need to be open to agave and inspiration.

Invite your friends RSVP on Facebook.

Findings from the Awesomeness Inquiry

an exhibit of new paintings of San Francisco

Mission Pie
2901 Mission St. (at 25th Street)

Thursday, September 26
6:30pm - 8pm at Mission Pie

Through painting and collaborative art, Todd Berman has pursued an inquiry into the awesomeness of San Francisco. The result is a series of paintings now on the wall at Mission Pie. Come to view the paintings and to share your ideas about what best represents the awesomeness of our city.

The exhibit continues until October 5, 2013
Mon – Fri  7a-10p
Saturday 8a-10p
Sunday 9a-10p

What makes San Francisco so awesome? What threatens that awesomeness?

We'll be using art to explore these questions during a pop-up residency, the Center for the Study of Awesomeness, August 10-11.

To be a full partner in this project, sign up for the workshop, "How to use visual art to build community and raise awesomeness," Sat. Aug 10, 11am-4pm.
